Research Methodology

Policy-Aware Macro & Equity Research Process

Policy Alpha Research translates macro regimes, industrial policy, company quality, and risk governance into a disciplined research framework. The objective is not to publish trade signals, but to show how investment themes are filtered, sized, monitored, and challenged.

01

Macro & Policy Regime

Identify the policy direction behind capital flows: fiscal support, industrial strategy, energy security, healthcare reform, monetary conditions, and U.S. market risk appetite.

02

Theme Selection

Prioritize sectors where policy support, demand expansion, supply-chain relevance, and valuation reset can work together rather than relying on narrative momentum alone.

03

Quality Filter

Focus on companies with stronger balance sheets, funding access, execution record, cash-flow quality, and strategic relevance inside their value chain.

04

Portfolio Construction

Convert research views into risk budgets, sector caps, position-size limits, cash or short-duration buffers, and cross-market allocation rules.

05

Risk Governance

Define thesis invalidation points, review triggers, drawdown thresholds, and rebalancing discipline before capital is committed.

06

Publication Discipline

Separate strategic themes, active monitoring lists, risk reviews, and closed or revised theses so readers can understand the level of conviction behind each note.

Research Output Meaning Typical Use
Strategic Theme Long-duration structural view supported by policy, demand, and quality filters. Research framework and watchlist construction.
Active Monitoring Theme or company remains attractive, but entry conditions or valuation are still being tested. Follow-up notes, trigger monitoring, and risk review.
Risk Review Macro, policy, valuation, or company-specific risk has become more important. Position-size discipline and thesis reassessment.
Thesis Revised Original assumptions no longer hold or the risk-reward has materially changed. Archive, update, or close the research view.
